[Book Review] Enders

Hello sweeties <3

So before the month ends I want to post another review for the challenge so that my list for february doesn't look too empty - bookwise this month wasn't to good for me *haha*

Title:Enders
Original Title: Enders
Author: Lissa Price
Pages: 288
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0857531360
ISBN-13: 978-0857531360

You can buy the book here!

Someone is after Starters like Callie and Michael - teens with chips in their brains. They want to experiment on anyone left over from Prime Destinations -With the body bank destroyed, Callie no longer has to rent herself out to creepy Enders. But Enders can still get inside her mind and make her do things she doesn't want to do. Like hurt someone she loves. Having the chip removed could save her life - but it could also silence the voice in her head that might belong to her father. Callie has flashes of her ex-renter Helena's memories, too . . . and the Old Man is back, filling her with fear. Who is real and who is masquerading in a teen body?
No one is ever who they appear to be, not even the Old Man. Determined to find out who he really is and grasping at the hope of a normal life for herself and her younger brother, Callie is ready to fight for the truth. Even if it kills her.

What I think about it:
Hm, I was really excited to start this book. I literally finished Starters and minutes later I started with this book but all my expectations were shattered to put it  exaggerate a bit xD As Starters was a really great start into the series Enders lacked in many parts. The characters that seemed so interesting in the first book turned really boring and the conclusions given in the end were already clear with the appereance of one character. At first I hoped everything would get cleared up in another way but the end was as anticipated. The book wasn't bad per se but in comparison to Starters it was a let-down in my opinion.
Also although the title is Enders there were not many Enders involved in te story - only the bad bad Enders who just want to use the Starters for their own profit. I think it is really sad that the majority of the Enders is depicted as evil and bad. I would have liked to have a deeper look into their motivation though.

All in all I have to say it was a nice read nonetheless even though the story was rather predictable and so were the characters. If you read Starters and loved it you will probably be a bit dissappointed with Enders.

★★☆☆☆

Hope you have a nice day <3

[Award] You are my Blogstar!

Hello sweeties <3

OMG~ this week is really great *-* I got a really great award from my dear Nezumi. Most of the time those awards are given to 10 or more blogs but this one is really really special as it goes only to one special blog...the idea for the award came from Grinsemietz and although I do love the idea of giving the award to only one blog I can't really decide which one to choose @@ There ares so many great blogs out there who would deserve this award...but after some thinking I came to a conclusion.

Here are the Rules:
- This award only goes to one blogger!
- write down why you you give the award to this blogger.
- Write down who gave you the award?

I thought to myself "What blogposts do you anticipate the most? Which blog is most fun to read?" - and my conclusion was *tadaaaaaaaaaaa*

I really, really love to see her new outfits and also the work in progress. I am so fascinated with her skills when it comes to sewing *^* I wish I could sew as well as she does *O* I also love to read about here travels - seriousely I want to go to Barcelona so badly now *hahaha* And the fact that she loves Doctor Who, Sherlock, Attack on Titan and many other things I am obsessed about is all the more reason to give the award to her blog. I already mentioned it before but I am probably her biggest fangirl *haha* ^^"

Have a nice evening *chuuuuuu*

[Book Review] Starters

Hello sweeties <3

This month wasn't really good speaking of reading...I only read 2,5 books...I somewhat didn't have the energy to open a book after work. I rather watched some TV shows, let myself get distracted by Gackt or made viddeos on Youtube - well, I just have too many obsessions if yu ask me *hahaha* But anyways, this book review was already 2 weeks waiting for me...so lets start ;)

Title: Starters
Original Title: Starters
Author: Lissa Price
Pages: 400
Language: German
ISBN-10: 349226932X
ISBN-13: 978-3492269322

HER WORLD IS CHANGED FOREVER [SUMMARY ON GODREADS]
Callie lost her parents when the Spore Wars wiped out everyone between the ages of twenty and sixty. She and her little brother, Tyler, go on the run, living as squatters with their friend Michael and fighting off renegades who would kill them for a cookie. Callie's only hope is Prime Destinations, a disturbing place in Beverly Hills run by a mysterious figure known as the Old Man.

He hires teens to rent their bodies to Enders—seniors who want to be young again. Callie, desperate for the money that will keep her, Tyler, and Michael alive, agrees to be a donor. But the neurochip they place in Callie's head malfunctions and she wakes up in the life of her renter, living in her mansion, driving her cars, and going out with a senator's grandson. It feels almost like a fairy tale, until Callie discovers that her renter intends to do more than party—and that Prime Destinations' plans are more evil than Callie could ever have imagined. . . .

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT:
This was a great start into the series, that unfortunately is only two books long and where the second instalment doesn't live up to the expectations (unfortunately). But I will talk about that in another post ;) I think the setting is really great and the characters with their struggles are well rounded. Also the net of mysteries woven around the situation of the Starters and Enders is really nice. You can really understand why the characters are acting how they are.
As for the setting I have to say that the premise with only the really old and really young people surviving the Spore Wars is absolutely new and exciting. Although I have to say that the author used to many stereotypes here, like only the old people are rich and unless you still have grandparents you have to live either on the streets or will be sent to the most cruel institutions. Well, this is important for the plot because the body bank couldn't exist without teenagers who don't suffer, right? ;) Furthermore I have to say that the Spore Wars in itself never were explained, that on one hand wasn't needed at all because it could have been every other war who destroyed mankind as we know it BUT I am still curious x"D

All in all the book was a really great read...not as good as The Hunger Games or The Raven Boys but I really enjoyed to read it. Of course it didn't stray from the usual paths of Young Adult dystopian literature  too much but I was already expecting that.

★★★★☆

Hope you enjoyed thie review :) Tell me what you are reading at the moment :3

Have a nice day~

BTSSB + Disneys Snow White

Hello sweeties <3

Actually I wanted to write a book review that is already waiting for me 2 weeks but than I stumbled across Lady Atropas Blogpost of a new print by Baby the Stars shine bright and all plans were forgotten xD Now I want to talk about the print instead *hahaha* As the title suggests this print is a collaboration with Disney as they used the original artwork from the movie which I dearly love *^* Although I have to say that Belle is my favourite princess Snow White (with Aurora) comes at a close second. So I am really stoked about that print :3
The print comes in 4 colorways. And contrary to what I usually like I don't really like the pink version XD I love ivory and black because it suits the theme pretty well. The dark blue one is nice as well but not to different to the black so it doesn't really count *hahaha*

There are two JSK versions and as I am a sucker for lacing in the front my favourite is the right version. I also love the ruffles in the front, they remind me of My first Soiree :3 Just love that style. Not to fond of the left JSK because it has too many bows in the front *ahahaha*

Onepiece and Skirt - Don't like the dress to much and well, the skirt is cute but I am no skirt person when it comes to Lolita xD

Unfortunately - as always with collaboration items - they are only sold in Japan *sighs* But maybe some of you know someone in Japan and are lucky to get one of the items ;) I am a little sad and also relieved that you can only get the print in Japan as my wallet is already screaming STOP! x"D

So, what do you think about the print? And what is your favourite Disney princess? Which one would you love to see on a dress?

Have a nice day <3

Jupiter - Blessing ★ Glory ★ Wisdom

Hello sweeties <3

I am literally starting to write this post for the third time already and I absolutely can't find the right words for one of the greatest experiences in my life. I would never have thought it possible but the Jupiter concert on Friday was an experience that somewhat changed my life...well, changed it might just be me being overly fangirly but at least it gave me a nudge in the direction I want my life to go from now on ;) I met so many great people at the concert...and I am not only talking about the band here ;) But lets start from the beginning *haha*

My first Soiree~

Hello sweeties <3

On Saturday I met some dear friends for coffee and some shopping and was finally able to wear my newest Baby-JSK again. This time I also could wear my lovely Bodyline boots.I don't know how I feel about having this bow on my head *hahaha* Actually it belongs into the front of the dress but there it seems even weirder in my opinion x"D

JSK: BTSSB - Blouse: ebay - Belt: ebay - Boots: Bodyline - Bow: BTSSB - Roses: Claire's - Tights H&M - Necklace: Claire's

I finally got my contact lenses and it is far easier to put them in than I would have ever thought :3 Taking them out still takes some time for me as the lenses slide away most of the time but it isn't as bad touching my eyes as I imagined...no danger of stabbing my eyes out either *hahaha*

Have a nice afternoon...still have to prepare my next book review...on the weekend I actually read 2 books...well on Sunday I did ^^" Couldn't stop reading but in the end I was rather disappointed with the 2nd book *sighs* But more of that I a later post ;)

xoxo
